Hotel Richelieu at 17 rue Richelieu is in an excellent location & is also well priced. This is a friendly family run Hotel and is very peaceful in a quite part of the town. Excellent breakfast and good food.
If you are looking for cheap accommodation then the Hotel Ibis at Quartier Beau Marais, 2 Rue Greuze would be a good choice. The hotel has a nice bar but the restaurant food is average and a bit pricey. The bedrooms are small, but clean and comfortable and adequate for a short stay. It is a short bus ride to the centre of Calais.

Restaurant Histoire Ancienne at 20 Rue Royale is an art deco 30s style Bistro that offers a simple menu of excellent steak & fish char grilled & a good selection of wine; located in the heart of Calais.
Restaurant Le Channel @ 3 Boulevard resistance is an up-market place that serves fine food & wine (the wine cellar can be seen through the glass floor). Very child friendly & professional staff that have good knowledge of the extensive wine list. All food is fresh and local & the fish is very good.

Le Bar A Vins, at 52 place d'Armes is a charming shop where the owner Luc lets you taste the wonderful wine & brandy, which sells for 2 euro a litre at the time of writing.
