Nice, A Great Place to Visit
Calais is a main crossing point for ferries traveling from the UK to France together with takes around 90 minutes to cross from Dover just by Ferry or 35 a matter of minutes by euro tunnel, having experienced both different types of transport I much prefer to travel by euro tunnel for the reason that North Sea can help make traveling by boat slightly choppy to say the least on windy days.
Although Calais is not really famous for its beauty that doesn't result in you can't have a fantastic day out in this French coastal town.
Sites worthy seeing on a stop by at Calais France are:
o Calais' town hall (Flemish Buildings)
This quick stay in Calais town is well worthwhile. Calais has some fascinating history and a wide array of bars, café 's shops and restaurants, but be careful when you go as both Sundays together with bank holidays in Calais turn it into a ghost village.
Good Hotels in the centre of Calais:
Hotel Richelieu at 17 rue Richelieu is an excellent location & is usually well priced. This is a friendly family run Hotel and is very peaceful in a quite the main town. Very child safe & professional staff that have good knowledge of that extensive wine list. Just about all food is fresh together with local & the fish is incredibly good.
Interesting Shops in Calais:
Le Bar A Vins, at 52 place d'Armes is a charming shop where the owner Luc lets you taste the wonderful wine & brandy, which sells for 2 euro a litre during the time of writing.
.
The Bustling town of Nice in the Cote D' Azur is an excellent town to visit both from an historical perspective in addition to a cultural one. We felt welcomed as soon as we arrived on the short drive from the airport to the town centre as we got our first sight of the magnificent views across this beautiful blue sea.
Old Nice is complimented by the spiders web of narrow old lanes which were made for exploring a variety of shops and restaurants. In the middle of the old town you'll discover the Piazza Massena the industry great place to stop by at chill out in the sun for a little bit.
As Italy is only around 30 minutes away from Nice, there are excellent places to buy Pizza and Ravioli along with the local seafood comes strongly suggested. Nice also hosts several top museums especially the Matisse museum where plenty of the artists paintings are shown.
Another great place that him and i thoroughly enjoyed is this old port, where we were able to watch the ferries start, that sail to Corsica and you will be 'wowed' by the really impressive moored yachts. Also if you're buying good nightclub they are in this region.
